Clinical Waste Segregation
- On 16 July 2005 the Waste
Acceptance Criteria (WAC) came into force. It is now a legal obligation
for businesses to describe exactly the content of their waste in order
to ensure its safe disposal (www.hazardouswaste.org.uk).
- Safe-Point facilitates
the segregation of pharmaceutical waste, providing the dental and
health sector with a solution to meeting these new criteria.
- Safe-Point provides reassurance and confidence to the practitioner
in the knowledge that they are responsibly and effectively disposing
of their used needles.
Cost saving vs disposable single-use syringes
- Safe-Point efficiently stores 250 used needles in a 0.5 litre sharps bi. By comparison 250 disposable single-use syringes require a storage volume of 10 litres.
- The running costs of Safe-Point are significantly less than the ongoing purchase and disposal costs of single-use syringes.
